Marriage

As I was doing the readings and looking through the Powerpoint for chapter 22, I noticed that one of the slides remarked that marriage is inherently the same for a homosexual couple and a heterosexual couple, which was nice to see in academic work. It is really nice to see that a textbook acknowledges that gay and straight couples have similar- if not the same- experiences. With gay men now being able to adopt, I feel like we as a society are moving in the right direction. Hopefully as this generation moves from young adult to -much later- generative adult, I hope we keep up our fight for equality. It seems silly that for so long people that are not heterosexual could not marry when now we are reading a textbook equating heterosexuals and homosexuals.
