Gender Differences

Gender differences are more apparent as we age. Berger (2011) states that, "Girls are raised to develop a morality of care. The give human needs and relationships the highest priority." I have seen this concept over and over not only in high school but in my young adult life as well. I completely agree with Gilligan's view that females misjudge the conduct of a person because we are trying to find the good in that person. This can lead to a host of different problems, and this is one reason I believe that women get hurt in relationships frequently. Because of our nature we as women want to see the good in someone weather it is someone were dating or a just a friend. Our brains are telling us to look for the good in the person, even when the signs are showing us that it's not a good relationship or that person just may not be right for us. This differs significantly than how men think. Men's are more focused on justice what is right versus what is wrong. They uphold strict justice over compassion and other emotional ties. Again this is why I believe that women have a harder time in relationships and are more upset when they end because we our brains show us to see the good in someone and not necessarily the reality of the situation.
