Morals and Religions
Morals and religion are an important part of most people's lives. Throughout college I have gained a better understanding of my morals, religion, and my philosophies in life. As a teen, my main priority was trying to fit in and have instant pleasure. As I approached my 20's, I had a total shift in my thoughts of life. I realized that there is more to life than what I had previously thought in my adolescent years. This made me both scared and excited at the same time. As I faced many challenges and accomplishments through my early 20's, I found out what my duty in life was. As a teen, I had no idea what I was set out to do in life. I believe life experiences and maturity humbles you in ways you would never believe. I'm not the only one that thinks this way either. It is said that in the U.S. survey of new college students, about 51 percent said they thought it was very important to help other people who were in difficulty (Berger, 2011). In our book it also says that "when students finish college, they report having experienced a "small, steady gain through college on developing their own values and ethical standards"(Komives & Nuss, 2005). As a close to graduating college student myself, I couldn't agree more with these statements.
