Sexting

To go further on the discussion topic about sexting we had for the week..

I think that sexting can truly be a detrimental thing to someone who is doing it in middle school maybe even high school because of the consequences it can have.  The FBI defines sexting as sending or receiving photos of a sexual nature, generally by cell phone, and estimates that between 4 and 31 percent of youths have sexted. So think about it, kids under the age of 18 doing these things... Are they doing it for their own pleasure and needs or because they are being pressured to do so. Photos often are shared beyond their intended recipients. Sexting can fuel cyber bullying and can have emotional, behavioral and psychological impacts for teens at both ends of the cell phone. Educators, parents, and lawmakers nationwide are struggling with ways to curb the practice and dole out age-appropriate punishments.

When it comes to adults though it is not against the law unless it relates to a minor. People just need to be careful with how they do things at certain ages once in a relationship or just "fooling around" because it can lead to serious problems, sometimes with the law getting involved. Adults will be adults and they will do as they desire, it is a new fad with young adults nowadays. Sending "booty pics" and "penis pics" it is just something people do because it defines their relationship it spices things up? I am not the one with that answer.

I believe "sexting" among young adults in today's society is a more common thing.
