One section I found interesting was the development is Multicontextual.
I found the different levels to be of unique thought, and really liked looking
at the Ecological model. The ecological-system approach is the study of human
development, and the person should be considered in all the contexts and
interactions that constitute a life (11). In one system, there are different
degrees that items fall in and are categorized in. You first have the
microsystems (family and friends, school and religious class), exosystems
(school systems, workplace) and macrosystems (cultural values, economic
policies and political processes.) I
agree with the fact that people are affected by different situations in their
lifetime, and they may overlap at some point in one’s life. It’s interesting to me to see how different
people view the development of a life-span many different ways. As people grow,
they have different likes and their personality can grow more into the person
they are created to be. Different parts of our lives can have influences on
that. This system also reminds me of the Nature vs. Nurture debate. I feel that
there is a pretty even split between the two- nature and nurture. With that
being the basis of human development and moving forward to the different blends
of the models it’s neat to see different thought processes on development.
