Blog 1 - Introduction and Theories

While reading this chapter, there wasn't a certain section that caught my interest, but I had my eyes opened to a much bigger idea. While reading about all the factors of development that are different from person to person (culture, direction, etc), I thought about just how different other people's developmental periods can be different from mine. It seems so simple to think about how I've grown over the years, but thinking about possible branching paths is extremely intriguing to me. By changing anything, even the disciplinary portion of one's development, they could emerge as a completely different person. I'm sure all of us have had different experiences. As such, we might be very different from each other, or we could be very much alike! The possibilities are near endless with so many variables to take into account.

As I progressed through chapter 2, reading up on the works of Freud, Skinner, and others reminded me of my psychology course from last semester, and acted as a nice refresher of these more famous psychologists. I enjoyed learning about their discoveries and works last semester, and I hope that this course covers them more in depth. In addition, I am excited to see what psychologists we learn about throughout this course.
