I really liked Haidt's Ted talk- and by extension, his research- in that he really captured liberals and conservatives without being biased toward one or the other. A danger, I think, is when people have legitimate research like Haidt and then destroys the impact of that research by discrediting themselves by getting on a political affiliation's bad side.
Regardless, something that really stayed with me was that all of the graphs that he showed of the five points of morality comparison with liberals and conservatives around the world. It was so interesting to me that each culture was so similarly spread across the graphs. This makes it so strange when you think about how often countries fight, war, and destroy another's culture. If we all have a similar spread of what is right and what is wrong for liberals and conservatives all over the world, then should we not have peace? It does not make much sense, but then again, Haidt had a good point when he spoke of our tribal heritage that may play a role in grouping together to fight wars and to resolve conflict as well as possible.
