Start education earlier

Children start talking, walking, running, playing and so on at a very early age between 2 and 3. Yet there are many children in the United States that don't participate in any active learning programs. Very young children pick up on language and knowledge the fasted. Their minds are always open to new information and ideas that are around them. This is why enrolling a child for 1 to 2 weeks at a head start or preschool could work wonders. It not only teaches them cognitive learning but also social learning such as how to get a long with other and how to use proper manners. Head starts and preschools should take place of ordinary day cares unless the day care has a curriculum. Some may argue that children should be children and not partake in education at such an early age. I believe that a small amount of head start schooling will not take away from childhood. Teachers can make learning fun and include the learning program into fun games or activities. Children need to be prepared intellectually, emotionally, and socially for the future. Confidence is also built up through attending preschool. Exposing kids to this at a younger age than just preschool and kindergarten can help them warm up their brains and be ready more when grade school comes along. This is where I believe that more funding needs to be put to help offset the cost of expensive programs so that parents won't have an excuse not to enroll their children.
